FOCUS ON NEW INNOVATIONS TO IMPROVE EFFIENCY IN AG PRODUCTION
Midwest Shows,
Inc. will proudly present the 15th annual Sioux Falls Farm show
at the Sioux Falls Arena Convention Center, and the commercial exhibit portion
of the 59th Annual Sioux Empire Farm Show at W. H. Lyon Fairgrounds, January
25, 26, 27, 2012
Both shows are sell outs as manufacturers and dealers
display dozens of the newest innovations in agriculture, ranging from genetics
to on board control/monitoring systems, all of which offer cost savings
to the producer, will be on display. At
the Sioux Falls Farm Show, Arena Convention Center emphasis is on row crops,
small grain and forage crops while the Sioux Empire Farm Show, W.H. Lyon Fair Grounds accents livestock.
Advances in technology are being announced every day, and Sioux Falls/Sioux
Empire Farm Show exhibitors will showcase the newest and best of these offerings. Admission and parking are free at both locations.
A great prize package will reward one lucky attendee

SEEDS and N-RICH PLANT FOOD are providing The prize package of $2000.00
worth of CURRY seed Plus $500.00 worth of N-Rich Plant Food to the winner
drawn at noon each day.
The Sioux Empire Farm Show Runs Concurrently at the
W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds and features purebred and market livestock shows during
the week. There are commercial exhibits Wednesday, Thursday and Friday,
and The Sioux Falls Chamber of commerce sponsors several special events:
- Supreme
Row: 2011 marked the fourteenth year of the $12,000 Supreme Row competition.
Wells Fargo Bank South Dakota, N.A., campbels supply Co. and the Tri-State
Neighbor sponsor the Supreme Row and fund the $12,000 purse. This year
seven breeds of purebred cattle will compete for this award. The purse
is split between the buyer and the consignor of the animal that places
at the top in this highly competitive best of all breeds award.
- Mayor's
Round-Up and Sale of Champions: Since 1998, Sioux Falls Mayors have lent
their names and support to the sale of champions. For several decades
, the Sioux Falls business community has supported area producers by bidding
on the best livestock from the Farm Show and paying a premium to the producers.
The top market steers, market swine and market lambs are featured in this
fun event.

Sioux Falls Farm Show Manager Ron Bormaster says "The combined
event has matured into a great service to the agricultural community in
the Sioux Falls area. This year we have more exhibitors utilizing more exhibit
space than ever, so attendees will see even more than in years past.” Bormaster
continues “All the most popular elements of the show are returning including
daily presentations by South Dakota extension Specialists. and Health screening
by Sanford Health returns as one of the most popular elements of the show.”
Bormaster adds “ We’re also continuing the producer appreciation event with
FREE coffee and rolls for attendees at the Arena Mezzanine from 8:30 to
10AM, sponsored by Pickard Crop Services, N-Rich Plant Foods, DTN, Farm
Credit Services of America and WNAX Radio.”
