21st ANNUAL HAWKEYE FARM SHOW

EXHIBITORS EMPHASIZE EFFICIENCY 

 

A tradition of excellence has made the Hawkeye Farm Show a must attend for farmers in the region. The 21st Annual Hawkeye Farm Show will fill the UNI-Dome with the newest in agriculture Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, February 20, 21, 22, 2008. Show Manager, Penny Swank, states "This year's show exhibitors heavily emphasize strategies for bottom line improvement. Spiraling energy costs make it imperative to control, manage and market more effectively than ever. Ag producers attending will see numerous methods employing high tech equipment and software for monitoring input costs as well as all new power equipment designed to minimize fuel expenses. The newest machinery will be on display, all with emphasis on increased performance and the best possible fuel efficiency. Marketing and management software is always improving and Iowa State University Extension Seminars are just the ticket for maximizing the benefits of the information available today"

 

EARLY BIRDS arriving at the show between 8:30 and 10AM can enjoy Free Coffee and Rolls with KOEL Farm Director, Brad Wells. Those arriving at the show before noon will have an opportunity to register for an all new $1000.00 prize of merchandise from any exhibitor. Registration information is available in the Iowa Farmer Today special show addition or at the show office on the east side of the UNI-Dome Exhibit floor. Ag producers will also be able to test drive the newest from John Deere and CaseIH for 2008. To take a test drive at the show, simply visit the Phelps Implement Booth at the NORTHWEST corner and the Titan Machinery display in the NORTH CENTER of the UNI-DOME floor and arrange to have them take you to the test drive area in the South parking lot.

 

Advances in technology are being announced every day. Innovations ranging from genetics to on board control/monitoring systems, will be on display. Several exhibitors are offering strategies and techniques to deal with emerging concerns such as Asian Soybean Rust. Power Equipment Companies, Farm Implements and Tools of all kinds, Seed Companies, Chemical Companies, Storage Buildings, and Grain Handling and Drying Systems are all represented at the show. Those attending are sure to enjoy the opportunity to compare all these exciting new products and services in one location. In all, nearly 200 Companies will be displaying over 700 lines products and services. Swank re-emphasizes, "The timing of the show is ideal for planting information and purchases."

 

Information and education play a more important role in agricultural production each year, and toward that end, we are delighted to feature daily seminars by Iowa State University Extension. The seminars, sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America, are scheduled twice daily at 11 AM and 1 PM newley located in the Media Room Accessed from the south end of the Exhibit floor

Admission to the Hawkeye Farm Show is free to the public. There is no charge for attendance. A parking charge of $3.00 per car is assessed by the University of Northern Iowa to those parking in the UNI Dome lots. Show Hours are 9 AM - 5 PM Wednesday and Thursday and 9 AM to 4 PM Friday.
