LIVESTOCK HANDLING SKILLS SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

2 three
person teams from each of the 5 Oklahoma FFA districts will compete for post
secondary scholarships in agricultural curricula.
The competition is open to ALL OKLAHOMA High School students, Grades 9 - 12, enrolled in Agricultural Career Tech Educaton, FFA Members, 4-H menbers or members of other farm youth organizations.
All Teams Must Register for the competition before
July 13, 2007.

The 10 qualifying teams are determined by test.. Details posted at this link: http://www.farmshowsusa.com/scholarsh/Generalinfo.htm
The test will cover material from the Oklahoma Career Tech "ANIMAL SCIENCE" texts. The tests will consist of multiple choice questions and word problems relating to everyday application of course materials to beef production operations.
Educators from Oklahoma Career Tech will validate the scoreing of the tests.. Each finalist is guaranteed a minimum of a $100.00 scholarship.
Scholarships are awarded after a student completes one term of post secondary education in an agricultural field with a minimum grade point of 2.5. The scholarships are funded by Midwest Shows, Inc/Farm Shows USA and exhibitors at the Tulsa Farm Show. Distribution of scholarship funds is done through the Midwest Shows Educational Fund, Inc, a non profit corporation.
